What is it ? is a subgenre of horror fiction that is based on the characteristics of characters, their beliefs and experiences they go through . Psychological horror is very different from the gruesome horror with the typical iconographies such as a "monstorous creature". Instead the peculiar events which take place contain a normal being.

The aim is to mentally affect the audience by presenting thought provoking issues which intrigue the audience.
